ERASED

What is it:
ERASED is a short horror environment/game loop that I created as part of a college project.

The aim of the game:

You walk through the woods and find yourself lost.

You stumble across a town, hoping you can find your way home, but no one’s there to help you. However, your curiosity gets the better of you, and you learn the horrific truth about this forgotten town.

Lore and story:
The mayor becomes consumed by immeasurable fear and strikes a deal with a sorcerer to grant him immense power, as long as he keeps the people of the town safe. But he becomes uncontrollable and increasingly insane.

As he slowly becomes a victim of his own mind, he turns against his people, threatening to erase anyone from existence if they try to flee.

The people of the town attempt to put a stop to the mayor’s madness. They banish him to the churchyard, sealing and locking him away.

However, this isn’t enough to hold him.

He begins to grow stronger and stronger as time passes, and the churchyard begins to shatter and crack under the strain of containing him.

He lets out a loud yell, waking everyone in the dead of night—
unleashing a shockwave of rage that echoes throughout the town.

The churchyard begins to glow white, shattering the townspeople’s line of sight.

Startled and terrified of what he has become, they try to run, but it is too late. The mayor unleashes his full potential, releasing an eternal fog that erases everyone from existence.
